Nissan 370Z Replacement Getting Turbo 4-Cylinder
Next up on the to-do list for the Japanese automakers is the replacement for the 370Z. When Nissan decided to put the 350Z out to pasture, they decided to give its replacement a slightly bigger V6 engine.
But with emissions standards clamping down and buyers increasingly looking for economy, the next Z might actually have a 4-cylinder turbo engine, according to a report from Inside Line, who spoke to Nissan’s design boss Shiro Nakamura.
Nakamura added the new Z is still in the early stages of development and should debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Besides being more economical, it will also be lighter and cheaper in order to attract more buyers.
