Speaking with Autocar at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Nissan development chief Andy Palmer said that a “smaller and lighter” replacement for the current 370Z will be showcased at the Tokyo show.
The concept previewing the production model could use an electric drivetrain, while the real version will have a gasoline engine at least as powerful as the current one.
Mr. Palmer wanted to emphasize on the fact that the new generation sportscar won’t be anything like the low-cost Toyota GT 86 and it will “feature a high performance Nismo version to ensure it could compete in the market it’s already in.”
