NICB Report Reveals Top 10 Ston Cars in the US
The study that was conducted by the National Insurance Crime Bureau revealed that for the first time since 2002, car thieves preferred to target American models rather than foreign ones, a fact also shown on the annual list of the most stolen vehicles of 2010. The national record was held by the 1994 Honda Accord which was also, the No1. stolen car in 2009 and 2008 also.
Also worth mentioning is the fact that Ford also has three spots in the top 10, Dodge fallows close with two and Chevrolet with one. The last places are held by Honda, Toyota and Acura. The report also revealed that the top three spots on the list continued to be Japanese models maintaining this way the “tradition” which is kept the same since 2000. On the other hand there are also some good news regarding truck thefts which tend to decline.
The preliminary FBI statistics used in the study match up with the bureau’s final study, making 2010 the year with the fewest vehicles thefts since 1967. Of course, the national average was not applied to all U.S cities. In Wyoming, the most stolen vehicle was the Dodge Ram. The Ram didn’t managed to place itself in New York’s top 10 giving the fact that Jeep Grand Cherokee was the best-stealer.
