The next-generation Skoda Fabia will be launched in 2014, Skoda head of development Dr. Frank Welsch revealed earlier this week, adding that the vehicle will not change too much in terms of size.
“It will get a totally new design, with optimized proportions, so it will be slightly wider and lower and more attractive, but it will stay a very compact car,” Welsch told Auto Express. “It will use the latest fuel-efficient engine from the VW Group box of bits, and the latest infotainment systems, but it won’t be MQB,” he added.
Welsch reaffirmed that the new Fabia won’t get a vRS model, but said the estate will continue to be offered: “We will keep the estate. It’s popular in the city and not too expensive.”
The next-generation Skoda Fabia will arrive in the second half of 2014.
