New York state will soon be joining the ranks of the US states with the most EV charging stations. While the current number of 428 charging stations may not seem bad at all, Texas and Washington state each have around 800, while California is cruising ahead of the pack, with 2,400.
The expected investment has settled around the $4.4- (€3.5-) million mark, and it will bring about the building of 325 EV charging stations all across the state, with most of them being expected to be concentrated around New York city. However, a further $10- (€8-) million will consist of a voucher fund, allowing the state to offer companies that buy commercial EVs as much as $20,000 (€16,000) back per vehicle back - a huge incentive, we say.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a prior statement that "Creating an infrastructure to accommodate electric vehicles will create jobs and new economic development across the state, while reducing our carbon footprint and helping protect the environment."
