New Volkswagen Golf 4Motion Launched

If you're looking for a compact SUV that will help you take the kids to school and back on a winter day, why not go for a Golf hatchback instead. The seventh generation of the legendary family car has now been made available with 4Motion all-wheel drive, meaning that when the going gets tough, the car keeps going.

The Golf VII 4Motion is equipped with a choice of two diesel engines, either a 1.6 TDI or 2.0 TDI. But both of these units are fitted with Stop/Start system and battery regeneration.

The 1.6-liter TDI 4Motion makes 105 PS and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. It's good for 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds and a top speed of 187 km/h (116 mph), while averaging 4.5 L/100km combined (62.7 mpg UK).

The more powerful Golf 2.0 TDI 4Motion has 150 PS and Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. It gets from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and has top out at 211 km/h (131 mph). while consuming 4.7 L/100km on the combined run (60 mpg UK).
