New Toyota Supra Sketch Is Here
Earlier this year, the company refreshed the “Supra” trademark registration - this had expired in 2006 and hadn’t been renewed. In addition to that, Toyota CEO Akio Toyota, told the world that he’d be more than happy to see a new incarnation of the vehicle coming to the world.
However, various media reports show that Toyota could choose to hybridize the Supra, killing its spirit for the love of marketing. Considering this, it is only natural that members of the automotive enthusiasts’ community are stepping up and coming with their own proposals for a new Supra that would live up to the model’s reputation.
We’ve decided to search deep for an earlier independent design proposal for the Supra, one that would come from an era when the hybrid vehicles hadn’t infected performance vehicles. All said and done: ladies and gentlemen, we give you Raymond Todde’s vision of a 2020 Supra.
Dating from 2003, the Canadian designer's sketch offers us a Need For Speed-like approach. In other words, the vehicle is packed with aftermarkets parts, with the list including front bumper side add-on elements, an aggressive-hood, generously-sized air vents, as well as a large rear spoiler. The follows the Supra’s legacy, offering a targa-like roof.
Ok, we admit, this is not the most sophisticated design sketch we’ve seen, but it has enough juice to make us all dreamy...
