New Lotus Esprit Axed

They will be left with the same three cars they’ve had for the last 4 years: Elise, Exige and Evora. While the Evora is a relatively new product, having been launched in 2008, both the Exige and Elise are heavily based on the first Elise, first launched back in 1995. There is also another reason for this, as the Elise features a glued aluminium chassis, which is extremely light and strong, and still very advanced in its own right.
We were hoping that at least one of the concept shown in Paris in 2010 would make it into production, but that idea has now become redundant.
New information shows that this is, in fact, a false rumor.
