New Hemi SRT Barracuda Teased on 60 Minutes Chrysler

Just because we couldn’t be bothered to hear 60 Minutes of corporate talk, Chrysler’s recovery and Fiat Group CEO Sergio Marchionne, doesn’t mean that everybody else wasn’t. And this is a good thing, because were it not for Automotive News, we would never have seen the profile of the Barracuda revival, which is going to be a SRT brand car.

The car is revealed as a red coupe serving as a backdrop to Ralph Gilles, Chrysler’s head of design and the head of the SRT (Street and Racing Technology) brand.

The Hemi Cuda is obviously a concept right now, as the windows are blacked-out to hide that lack of a completed interior. The car features a sloping A-pillar and a shortened trunk compared to say a Challenger.

The car will reportedly get a ew supercharged Hemi powerplant, displacing 6.2-liters. Details are extremely limited right now, but the car should be revealed by the end of the year.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
