It looks like the Thai road safety commission likes a lot the good cop - bad cop routine. The motorcycle safety campaign they ran during the spring used the horror factor to show how dangerous riding without a helmet can be.
Autumn brings a different approach which stresses the importance of wearing a helmet when riding in a less gruesome way. Instead of the spring's human head helmet, these fellows now bring in a parachute tied to a faller rider's head.

It could have very well been a hot air balloon for a funnier twist of the story, though probably few would have gotten the message. Anyway, the ad's message is as clear as it gets: Land safe. Always wear a helmet.

Knowing how crazy the two-wheeled traffic is in Thailand, it appears like we'll keep seeing such ads for a long time. While it's obvious many riders will of course, ignore the message (and keep on dying or become severely injured) it's still heartening to see the Thai Health Promotion Foundation employing truly creative designers.

Oh, and the same campaign also targets skateboarders and bicyclists.
