New French President Francois Hollande Rides in a Citroen DS5

Newly appointed French president, Francois Hollande, waves to the crowds from within the huge sunroof of his bespoke DS5 HYbrid4 Laundulet.

We’re kind of sad to see the truly and undeniably presidential Citroen C6 being phased out as the main presidential means of transportation in France, and its replacement with what isn’t really a proper Citroen luxury car. To us, the DS5 isn’t really suitable for such a purpose, due to a lack of that typically French elegance that Citroens were famous for in their hayday - it's still nowhere near as elegant as the C6 sedan, which has fulfilled the role of presidential transportation from 2004 onward.

Still, Francois Hollande’s determination to carry on waving to the crowds, in spite of the heavy rain is still admirable, but, then again, sitting in the rain on the beautiful streets of Paris is still beats having Nicholas Sarkozy as your president, any day!
