New Ford Focus ST Becomes Police Car in UK [Photo Gallery]
With a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) time of about 7 seconds (it’s been filled with police kit, so we’re guessing it’s a bit slower), the Focus ST will definitely give some BMW drivers a scary time.
This is currently a one-off, built and developed by Ford Special Vehicle Preparations (SVP) in Earls Colne, Essex. The car appeared at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers’ Conference and Blue Light Fleet Exhibition (NAPFM) in Peterborough.
“With the Ford Focus ST being seen so publicly on cinema screens nationwide, the timing for this ‘official’ version couldn’t be better. At the NAPFM show we displayed the car’s crime-fighting talents to police transport managers and took bookings for demonstrations,” said Terry Adams, Ford’s Direct Sales Manager for Police, Fire & Ambulance.
