New Clio Cup Race Car Makes UK Debut with Lap of Snetterton
“The thing that impresses you the most when you first drive the new Clio is the engine power and the gearbox, there’s so much more power than the existing car and the gearbox is really good – the changes are lightning fast with the paddle shift," said Renault UK Clio Cup pilot Josh Files.
Files managed to set a lap time of 2m07.001 seconds (84.15mph), almost two seconds faster than the old car. The Clio racer uses a tuned version of the 1.6 TCe engine which now produces 220 hp. It's still got the EDC gearbox, but the standard suspension has been replaced with djustable dampers from ZF-Sachs.
