BMW recently introduced the new Mountain Bike Cross Country 2009 in pearl white, which completes the luxury Bike Collection, available in BMW’s online shop and at its selected dealers.

The BMW Mountain Bike Cross Country features premium components like the fully hydraulic disc brakes and a four-pivot rear suspension, which complements the hydroformed aluminium frame. The bike comes in a monochrome pearl white color scheme, with red rocker arm and it weighs only 12,9 kg.

According to the manufacturer, thanks to its finely tuned suspension, high damping comfort and the frame geometry which allows an inclined seating position, the bike is quite reliable on any terrain. Well, not quite any terrain, since BMW bikes cannot be sent outside Europe or to Norway, Spain and Switzerland.

We didn’t expect that an overall package like this to come cheap. The price announced by BMW is 2,999 euros ($4,076), which sounds a bit high for a bike that needs some assembly work after it’s delivered (for example attaching the pedals or aligning the handlebars).

Good news is that it comes in three different sizes (not pocket sizes, but related to the rider’s height). The medium (M) size stands at 47 cm, for height between 165-178 cm, the large (L) size at 52 cm, for height between 174-190 cm and finally, the extra-large (XL) size, at 55 cm, which is designed for a height between 183-195 cm.

If you are still determined to get one of these bikes, stay safe and think of an adequate gear to go with it. If you had almost 3,000 euros to pay for the ride, you should find out an extra 35 euros for the BMW Bike Gloves, 19,90 euros for the BMW Cable Lock and, why not, 79.95 euros for a BMW Bike Rucksack.
