Stereotypes exist for a reason - this is the first thought that comes to our minds when learning about a Shelby GT500 losing control at a car event. Sure, the blown Mustang isn’t exactly known for its stable nature, but on most occasions the driver is the one to blame and the example in the video below is no exception.
We are dealing with yet another one of those cases when a GT500 owner who uses the car to fuel his ego hurts the entire Mustang community, adding to the crash-related stereotypes.
It’s difficult not to see things in this light when the guy behind the wheel starts accelerating violently with a hand sticking out the window. And the massive mismatch between the level of his enthusiasm and his driving skill only confirms the man finds himself behind the wheel of that supercharged muscle car for all the wrong reasons.
While the crash involving another Mustang was a mere fender bender, we can’t say the same about the impact that saw the GT500... rear-ending the Ram with its passenger side.
By the time the Shelby hit the pickup truck, the Mustang had gained quite some momentum (we wouldn’t be surprised to find out the Ford was doing 60 mph at the time of the impact, for instance).
As you’ll be able to see in the footage below, which offers us a good view of the accident, the driver reacts extremely late to the Mustang’s obvious sideways signals.
As a result, the Ford was seriously damaged in the crash. More importantly, the driver of the Shelby was injured in the accident and taken to the hospital.
Given the circumstances, as well as the Vossen wheels of the car, which seem to attract hate as a magnet, many people in the online community pointed their fingers at this Mustang owner. Perhaps this will serve as a lesson to other drivers who get behind the wheel only to show off.
