Only those who don’t drag race will never wheelie - we’re working on a sticker that reads that right now, but the reason for which we are here is that we want to show you what happens when things simply go too far down this route.
The footage below brings us the usual Mustang vs Camaro battle, but with what could very well be a high dose of douchebagery on the Mustang’s side - please note we mentioned the car, not the driver here.
The Fox Body starts the race with a massive wheelstand and, just as the car begins to settle, the driver gets back on the throttle, with the ‘Stang repeating the stunt. Not only did the Ford look like it crossed the 1/8 mile line on two wheels, but it also finished the race in the Camaro’s lane.
In fact, the Fox Body had such a violent run that it all looked more like drifting than drag racing. One thing is for sure - the driver wrestled the pony into submission. Notice how, towards the end of the run, the Mustang was heading straight for the wall, looking ready to turn this into one of those nasty crash clips.
Fortunately, the man behind the wheel managed to bring the Mustang back in line, but not before doing quite some work in order to sort things out. A wheelie bar is probably what the guy wants to see under the Christmas tree this year...
