We all know that the action in the second movie of the famous Back To The Future franchise happens in 2015. This is why there are a lot of things related to the movie going on lately. This is also why Illionois-based Volo Auto Museum has decided to give away a DeLorean movie replica to a contest winner in a drawing this fall. That is if the Chicago Cubs will win 2015 World Series, as predicted in the movie.
It’s quite a big deal considering the exhibition model DeLorean is one of the main attractions of the car museum. Its director, Brian Grams, said its 1981 time machine features all of the movie car’s props, including a mock flux-capacitor that enabled the car to travel through time in the iconic movies.

We thought it would be a really fun promotion for the auto museum and the Cubs. We’ve had the car here for many years, and always a crowd please. So, we decided to take a bit of a risk and have fun with it,” Grams told the Daily Herald.

The rules of the contest are quite simple, all the people visiting the facility after March 21 automatically become eligible to enter the contest. And worry not, in the worst (and most probable) scenario the Cubs lose and the winner gets a Marty McFly hoverboard replica instead.

In case you’re not such a baseball fan, we’ll take the time to expose what's the irony here. You see, the Cubs haven’t won a World Series title since 1908 which is why chances for the Chicago-based team to do it this year are quite low. On the other hand, judging by the movie in question, anything is possible.

After all, let us not forget that at the time the movie was being shot, Florida had no Major League Baseball team, yet since then it gained two franchises, the Marlins in 1993 and the Tampa Bay Rays in 1998. Moreover, the former even won two World Series twice, in 1997 and 2003. In Back To The Future II the Chicago Cubs were winning the World Series over a Miami team who's logo is an alligator.
