After all the tricky stories regarding the positioning of Monster Energy and new title sponsor Movistar logos on the 2014 Yamaha MotoGP bikes, it looks like a deal was finally was made last week. Yamaha Racing Team became Movistar Yamaha and will retain this name for the next 5 seasons.
Both Yamaha and Movistar have been very secretive as far as the new livery was concerned, and no details have been offered, save for the new logo of the team. Now, while we can imagine that the Movistar logo will have a central position on the side panels of the Iwata bikes and even massive exposure on the front cowl under the bubble.

Still, it will be interesting to see where has the Monster logo been moved to, especially after all the hassle with contracts and all. With the new looks of the 2014 YZR-M1 already sporting larger white areas, we can expect that the final livery of bikes boasts the same light and almost noble attire.

However, we at least know that we have to wait until March 19 in order to see the final design of the Lorenzo and Rossi’s Movistar Yamaha bikes. The team will unveil them in Qatar, at the Losail circuit ahead of the FP1 sesssion. The 2014 MotoGP season kicks off with the Qatar round, 20-23 March, the one and only night-time race of the championship, and Bridgestone, the official tire supplier , says we might expect quite a fast race pace.
