MotoGP Visits Argentina for Test Riding

Good news for the MotoGP fans in South America: MotoGP is said to include Argentina in the 2014 calendar. But the really good news is that the Argentinian fans will be able to see the MotoGP stars in an extensive test scheduled July 1-5 at the Circuito Internacional Termas de Río Hondo, in the Santiago del Estero province.

So far teams Honda, Ducati and Yamaha have openly declared their interest for the schedules tests in Argentina and gather setup data for the upcoming proper race next year.

The Argentinian MotoGP round was originally scheduled for 2013 but tensions rose as Argentina decided to nationalize the local Repsol branch. Remains to be seen whether Repsol Honda will see fit to travel to Argentina in July, between the Dutch and the German rounds.

The Circuito Internacional Termas de Río Hondo is a 4,805 meters long (2.98 miles) clockwise track, with the ideal time of 1m31s730, an average speed of 188.6 km/h (117.2 mph) and a top speed in excess of 315 km/h (195 mph), with 14 turns.
