Mo.Tel Caravan Concept, the New Luxury Trailer

We are not sure how the wealthy people are going to be persuaded to buy one of these, but the Mo.Tel Caravan concept could be the choice for those who afford to buy anything that’s new, expensive, and the latest fad.

The Mo.Tel Caravan concept, short for MObile hoTEL, was designed by a 2009 Graduate of the Transport and Product design course at Coventry University, Rob Millington, as bornrich.org related.

As Millington said, “Caravanning is stale and boring, and I wanted to design something that could add a little spark and attract new people to caravanning. I wanted to effectively design a hotel room on wheels, something that just says quality as soon as you step in.”

The concept was inspired by the iconic Airstream caravans and the 1950s styling elements, which are reflected in the use of whitewall tires, aerodynamic wheel covers and the minimalist proportions. The Mo.Tel is made of a GRP foam core sandwich body placed on top of a steel tubular chassis.

Since we’ve got the exterior covered, let’s take a look inside. Contemporary furniture was used for decorating, that giving an overall feeling that is certainly different than the one when you enter a standard trailer. With the bedroom located above the main living area and the electronically operated pop up roof, the limited space is quite effectively utilized.

You can climb up to the bedroom by using a movable ladder at the end of the kitchen area, which is positioned in the corner of the main living area and features a fold-out breakfast bar. So, it has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living-room and even a comfortable sized bathroom. The main living area features a sofa that also doubles as a bed and stackable chairs. Unfortunately, there was no info on the price, but it will probably be out of most people’s league.
