If Mitsubishi ever decide they want to make the next production Colt supermini to look like this concept, then we think they have a winner on their hands. It’s been a very long time since we saw such a sporty-looking little hatch with coupe-ish lines.

Called the Mitsubishi CS, the concept is the handiwork of designer Gábor Farkas. Instead of creating a futuristic, outlandish design concept, he made something that is more production-ready. The lines of the car follow Mitsubishi’s current language and also incorporate elements from the Japanese brand's most recent models.

The front grill bears more than a passing resemblance to the so-called shark nose of the Lancer. The compact car, which is only the size of a Ford Fiesta, has a swooping roof that ends in a body-colored spoiler. The interior continues the more production, less concept approach, incorporating styling elements from the Outlander Sport. The two-tone color combination on the seats and the red lighting on the dash remind us of the Colt CZT.

"During the winter holiday I had some time to speculate and this is how I imagine a Colt successor that Mitsubishi fans could like. When designing the conceptCS, the main goal was to summon the spirit of its ancestors. The design concept revives the Colt CA (92-96) with a touch of the C50 (88-92) model at the front, wrapped in Mitsubishi's new jet-fighter design language. The interior is similar to that of the Outlander Sport/ASX/RVR," the designer told Carscoop about his creation.
