Mister NASCAR Jim France Visits the Office Where His Father Met Enzo in Maranello

As a son of NASCAR co-founder William Henry Getty France, Jim began his career working at the same company very young when he was just 14 years old. Ever since, the American motorsports executive lived his entire existence for the track. It’s no wonder he wanted to check out the same place his father once met Ferrari Enzo himself.

Ranked as the third wealthiest American motorsports personage, France stays busy advising his nephew similar to how he did with his brother in terms of NASCAR leadership. That doesn’t mean there’s not enough time to visit one of the pylons of professional racing, and that’s exactly what the renown businessman did yesterday.

France met with Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa and Piero Ferrari, who welcomed on his arrival at the company and then accompanied him to the track where he did several laps in the LaFerrari.

My father told myself and my brother Bill Jr about that meeting several times. It was wonderful to see the office with my own eyes,” France told folks over at Maranello, according to Ferrari.

Then, the legendary racing businessman was accompanied by Formula 1 driver and Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever at the Museum in Maranello. Here they were presented with the likes of the 512 S that finished third in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1970 with Mario Andretti, Jacky Ickx, and Arturo Merzario, and other great classics. The day came to an end with Mr. France touring the 8 and 12-cylinder assembly lines.
