We’re not sure how the Minions movie was promoted in your area, but we’re ready to bet they didn’t wrap a Ferrari 458 Speciale accordingly as a PR stunt. You shouldn’t worry, though, we’re here to show you just that.
Aside from the obvious attention magnet role the Minions-covered Speciale in the footage below plays, this Ferrari is almost surreal. Sure, the wrap covers the entire supercar, so you’d expect it to have a strong impact, but this has to be the only contemporary Prancing Horse in the world that makes people smile.

No Ferrari in the world should do that, at least according to Enzo’s beliefs and yet this one dares to break that unwritten rule. Given the possibilities the wrap industry offers these days, we’re wondering how come no Ferrari owner had achieved such an effect before.

Then again, there’s nothing to laugh at when discussing the specs of the 458 Speciale. At the center of this Maranello creation, we find a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 that allows the driver to play with no less than 605 PS (597 hp).

This makes for world record material, since the 4,497cc V8 offers the greatest specific power output in the atmospheric engine world.

In the handling department, the 458 Speciale brings an interesting piece of software called Side Slip Angle Control (SSC). Switch the Manettino to the Race or CT Off (traction control off, stability control partially on) positions and the electronics will make better use of the supercar’s E-Diff electronically-controlled limited slip diff and its F1-Trac control system.

Sure, the dampers don’t soften up at the limit to give the driver extra feedback as it happens with the 488 GTB. But the Speciale remains a car that marks the end of an era, one that also saw Luca di Montezemolo leaving the company and Ferrari being listed on the stock market.
