Just after smart introduced its electric scooter ahead of the vehicle’s Paris Auto Show debut, MINI decided to make a similar move, offering us a set of initial details and images of the Scooter E concept.

Actually, MINI will bring three retro-inspired scooter concepts to the event. The first one (pictured in white and blue) will use the “Ego” name, as it will be aimed at offering mobility for a single person. The second one is called “E” (we are talking about the blue and lime green-finished one), as it is focused on environmental friendliness. The two are joined by a British Racing green two-wheeler, which is the ultra-retro member of the family.

The scooters are powered by a rear hub-mounted electric motor that also acts as a kinetic energy recovery system during the braking phase. This is fed with electricity by a lithium-ion battery pack that is expected to offer a range of around 62 miles (100 km). The scooters should offer a top speed of 37mph (60 km/h) and are expected to have a price of over EUR2,500.

The battery can be recharged using an on-board power cable that is integrated in the rear side of the vehicle.

The two-wheleers borrow multiple design features from the current MINI car models, such as the design of the headlights. Just like the smart escooter, MINI’s creations come with a special interface that communicates with smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing the rider to access multiple functions using his helmet.
