MINI has launched a "design model" based on the current generation of hatchbacks.
The resulting model was named Seven, after the Austin Seven that existed in 1959 and is the predecessor of the classic Mini. The MINI Seven is a high-end version of the hatchback model, since the regular car is already a premium model, and it features extra style elements and design features, but without an orientation towards performance, like the Cooper S and John Cooper Works variants have.

Instead, the Seven focuses on the British origins of the MINI brand, and it underlines the distinctive character of these cars, which have grown, but have not lost spirit.

The British brand will offer the Seven in both three-door and five-door variants, and four engine options will be available in the range, which will have outputs from 116 HP to 192 HP.

The Seven will be available for order in a body finish named “Lapisluxury Blue,” but three alternative finishes are available (Midnight Black, British Racing Green, and Pepper White). The roof and side mirror caps are painted “Melted Silver,” while the 17-inch light alloy wheels have a two-tone design.

The MINI Seven logo is present on the door sills, side scuttles, and the rear hatch door. The hood has stripes painted in the same tone as the mirrors and the roof, but clients can also get them with “Malt Brown” surrounds.

Inside, the British brand’s latest design statement comes with the optional MINI Seven Chili package, which involves LED headlights, LED fog lamps, white direction indicators, digitally adjustable air conditioning, MINI Driving Modes, the MINI Excitement Package, and many other features.

MINI first showed the Seven at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the British brand will also exhibit the car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. It is already available for order at dealers in Europe, and we now have a generous photo gallery of the hatch from Oxford.
