The aftermarket world is like an endless gold mine, offering something for everybody, from light tweaks like adding new wheels to completely changing everything about a car. And the German tuners somehow always manage to find the right combination, regardless of the model they choose to improve.

The latest such project that caught our attention comes from CoverEFX, who have once again focused on the MINI brand.

Despite the fact that the Brits have launched a new generation of the Cooper S in 2007, the German tuning specialists decided to work their magic on the previous one, offering an upgrade program that targets MINIs built between 2002 and August 2006.

The program comes to enhance the MINI both visually and performance wise.

But we’ll take it one step at a time. Exterior highlights envisioned by the tuners at CoverEFX include a full metal coating (teflon-gray-metallic and electro-red-metallic) plus the custom wheel set comprising of 17-inch alloys painted in black. Other elements include black painted wheel arches and headlights covered with shiny black lacquer.

But it doesn’t and here. In addition, the car's running gear has been enhanced with new springs from a company called X End P.

Now let’s get to the most interesting part - for many of you at least. The tuners have installed a device meant to optimize the dynamic pressure, which helps bring the total power output to 240 hp. The device is under a 10 year warranty, and which can optionally be installed with turbo or curved adapters.

Dubbed MINI R53 ProjectOne, this latest customization project from CoverEFX will cost you some EUR8,000.
