MINI Models Ranked as Resale Value Giants for 2015 Five Times

Even though MINI decided to pull the Coupe out of production due to a lack of demand, recent research shows that the rare model has one of the lowest depreciation in euros and cents in Europe. As it turns out, the car won the title of Coupe “Resale Value Giant” of the year.

The title was awarded by Focus Online, a German publication, which uses results published by market research institute Bähr & Fess Forecasts. They study the resale value of various cars from Germany and the EU.

The Coupe was just one of five awards MINI cars won, the automotive experts including four more praising titles for rides wearing the winged logo in their results. The items factored in by the researchers included not only the attributes of the analyzed models, but also the brand image, the performance in comparative tests, the competitor situation in the affected segment, and general economic developments.

In the small car segment, the new MINI One 3-door hatch won with an estimated resale value of 60.5 percent. The MINI Cooper S Paceman achieved a close number at 57 percent and won amongst other mini SUVs.

The MINI One Convertible was awarded two prizes. It achieved the best percentage (57.5 percent) and the lowest absolute depreciation in the category of open top vehicles.

These are not surprising results though, as the British models managed similar achievements in the past as well. For example, it is the second consecutive time the MINI One 3-door models gets the ‘Resale Value Giant’ award in its category.
