The famous third party tuning company based in Aachen, Germany, AC Schnitzer, have recently revealed and tested their latest project, the MINI Eagle, which they claim it is the fastest MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) ever built. The German tuners have tweaked both the performance and visual aspects of the car, and then they took it around the Hockenheim Circuit.

Visually, the car boasts anti-roll bars, a carbon fiber body kit, which includes a carbon bonnet plus carbon wings and doors plus a set of 18 inch Mi2 BiColor wheels wrapped in 225/35 ZR 18 tires. Naturally, the race-specific graphics are also resent.

But let’s move on the technical side and see what makes the MINI Eagle so special. The vehicle has undergone various performance upgrades, which come in the form of a new turbocharger and intercooler, a new sports clutch and a limited slip differential, a lightweight ion battery plus AC Schnitzer's Motronic program.

A stainless steel exhaust sytem with racing catalyst, along with a new racing suspension and a 'Short Shift' transmission, complete the package.

Thus, as compared to the basic model, the car now develops 260 horsepower and 340 Nm (250 lb.ft.) of torque instead of 2011 horsepower and 280 Nm (205 lb.ft.). The power increase has led to a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time 5.8 seconds, down from 6.5. Top speed has also increased from 148 mph (238 km/h) to 155 mph (250 km/h).

During testing on the Hockenheim GP circuit, the MINI Eagle managed to achieve a lap time of 1:13.341 min, which boosted it to the big boys’ league. This means that only the X-Bow, M3 Kompressor, Mercedes AMG and Caterham are able to beat it.

Despite the fact that AC Schnitzer have evaluated the project at EUR62,000, they say the MINI Eagle is not for sale.
