MINI Driver Blocks Tram, Angry Passengers Push It Out of the Way

It was a rather annoying evening for tram passengers going from Nottingham’s City center to Phoenix Park and Hucknall in Nottingham last Friday. A careless driver left her red MINI parked in the way and went for a coffee at a nearby shop. Little did she notice that her car was blocking the way.

According to Nottingham Trent University student, Billy Taylor who recorded the event, the car was parked half on the pavement and half on the tram lines, just enough to not let them pass. Despite the conductor’s best efforts of alerting the unaware driver of the situation using the horn, nothing happened for a good 15 minutes.

Having already blocked two full trams, the tension was tangible in the air. Therefore, the passengers decided to take action and, since this was a MINI after all, they simply pushed it out of the way. Not too long afterwards, someone got a hold of the driver and told her to go out to her car.

Needless to say that a Community Protection Officer was already near her car, waiting to give her a ticket that she well deserved, if you ask us. However, she did point out that she was from out of town and didn’t notice the tram lines. Really? That’s you best excuse?

Fortunately everything came back to normal even though the trams had a 15 minute delay.
