Mercedes Viano Vision Pearl Luxury Van Concept to Debut in Frankfurt

The forthcoming Frankfurt Auto Show this September will see the three-pointed star brand bring a specially developed showcar that is aimed at proving that anything is possible in the van sector. The vehicle in question is the Viano Vision Pearl, which Mercedes-Benz designed taking inspiration from the modern sporting yachts.

Capable of moving six occupants, the Viano Vision Pearl comes with a full leather interior in white/grey, wood floor, brushed aluminium trim, chromatically tinting windows and the Bang & Olufsen high-end sound system "BeoSound Viano". In addition, the luxury van design concept also features onboard W-LAN connectivity.

This is also the first time that Mercedes-Benz has used the "magno pearl grey", a matt, pebble-grey
exterior paint finish in the van sector. The front end of the Viano is highlighted by integrated LED daytime running lamps.

“Most people no longer travel somewhere just to relax and enjoy themselves. Car or motorcycle tours, cruises, sailing trips or trekking tours – the travelling time itself becomes part of the experience,” a company statement reds. “The name Vision Pearl emphasises both the design concept and the repositioning of the Viano: the Viano of the future is the perfect travelling companion, and in this version it conveys a modern, maritime theme.”

"We want to show what can be done with the Viano. The Viano Vision Pearl is not merely a functional van, but also a stylishly designed living space,"
said Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans. "We have created a vehicle which combines generous spaciousness with an impressive design. The interior design and technical features make the Viano Vision Pearl the S-Klasse among vans."
