Mercedes Recalls New SL Roadster Due to Fire Risk
The German carmaker has recently found there’s something wrong with the R231 SL-Class, the brand new roadster built for the 2013 model year. The fluid used as a refrigerant by the air conditioning system could leak in a severe crash, causing a fire in the engine compartment when coming in contact with the hot engine.
A recall affecting only 432 units (this is a brand new car) has been issued in the US, and Mercedes will replace the fragile coolant lines and the fluid free of charge. To find out more contact Mercedes-Benz at (800) 367-6372.
