Mercedes CLS 63 AMG 4Matic Drifts, Demands Disziplin!

What we attempted to do when the pic above was snapped was to see how the 4Matic on the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG handles sideways shenanigans. Oh yes, this behemoth can drift. Nonetheless, while the aforementioned conclusion could very well be signed by Captain Obvious, we haven’t seen a car that behaves quite like this.

Notice how heavily the CLS 63 AMG leans for a performance car. In spite of that body roll, the driving experience isn’t affected by any parasite feel. Thus, while the car may look like it’s struggling a little bit, it is doing just fine while being hooned through the twisties.

In this entire time, the CLS also keeps you, together with your passengers, in a pleasant state of mind.

Of course, it’s not like the AMG 4Matic favors drifting - all the car wanted to do while we were sliding it was to bring the rear end back in line. Disziplin!

In fact, the same “keep it fast but safe” character was also displayed behind the borders of grip. AMG’s 4Matic displays a perfectly neutral behavior through the bends. Aside from the aforementioned purpose, this also fully differentiates the 4Matic from the RWD CLS 63 AMG.

We’ll say this one more time - Disziplin!
