Waiting in a Minibus, stuck in traffic for long hours can’t possibly be as enjoyable as sitting in a private jet that is making a long flight to somewhere across the seven seas, right? Wrong, if Mercedes-Benz Manhattan’s creation, the Sprinter Grand Edition, has anything to say about this. The vehicle offers everything that defines luxury and comfort and, of course pampering.

Offered by the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan, the manufacturer-owned dealership on Park Avenue, the Sprinter Grand Edition comes with almost everything that you could expect from something the company calls a “stand-up Maybach”. Looking like a mobile office on wheels, it is gifted with a custom-build trim, including deluxe captain’s chairs, a couple of 32-inch LCD TVs, an audio amplifier, a sliding sofa refrigerator, a dashboard with a 6.5-inch display with GPS navigation, and a wireless router for Internet access, to name but a few of the fittings available.

Powering this Merecedez Benz van is a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine that generates a modest 188hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque. It comes mated to a five speed automatic transmission. A 4-Wheel Anti-Lock Braking System, Hydraulic Jack, light and rain sensor, tire pressure monitoring system are just some of the other features.

The exterior of the van includes such features as 16-inch aluminum wheels, an electrically-heated windshield and a control pad equipped security system. The Sprinter Grand Edition is an exclusive model sold only at the Manhattan dealership. Sales representative Vincent Varga has said that there were already 4 units sold a week before Christmas. “Some people call it the stand-up Maybach,” Varga said, and at $189,850 (EUR145,000) a piece, we are inclined to believe him.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
