The 2013 Airstream Interstate 3500 EXT is called by the peeps at AutoBlog the “Mercedes-Benz of RVs”. If you have never seen an image of how the vehicle looks you would probably think its just a pretentious phrasing for a luxurious RV.
You'd be half right, because the Interstate 3500 EXT really is a Class-B RV with a rather luxurious interior and it's also a modified Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with a dually rear axle.

Believe it or not, the humongous black van is considered a compact in the American Recreational Vehicle industry, which is filled with huge, lumbering vehicles that have the same interior volume as a rather large studio apartment.

Unlike your average Winnebago, the Interstate 3500 EXT is powered by a Mercedes-Benz V6 BlueTec engine that's rated for this vehicle at 188 hp and 325 lb ft of torque. Sure, the engine is small for a regular RV but this, like we said, is considered “a compact”.

Inside there are most of the amenities you could want from a luxurious RV in a somewhat smaller package, including a 2.5-kilowatt generator fueled by its own 18.9 liter tank of LPG. You can read the entire AutoBlog review of the Mercedes-Benz-based RV here.
