It is not all that uncommon for certain Mercedes owners to compare the interior of their cars with living rooms and after all these years of not paying attention to the trend, Mercedes-Benz is finally making this official.

The carmaker has recently launched a video that shows how the interior of an SL R230 (the previous generation of the car) becomes an interesting set of office furniture. So, let’s hear it in Mercedes’ words: “A car seat as an office chair, a dashboard as a desk, a rear mirror as a table lamp: The interior fittings of an SL are granted a second life as elegant office furnishings.”

This is the creation of South African designer Katie Thompson, who is used to working on such projects. She talks about a concept called “Recreate”, but we’ll let you find out more in the clip.
