Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows Prove Drifting Credential [Video]
The action takes place at the Mercedes-Benz World at the Brooklands motor racing circuit in Weybridge, Surrey, UK. The drivers dress up a little bit like Top Gear’s Stig, but it’s not like they can’t back it up with plenty of driving skills.
Last month, one of the Silver Arrow team drivers, Mauro Carlo, broke the world record for the longest car drift by power-sliding a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG saloon for 2,308 meters or about 1.44 miles.
To achieve the record breaking distance, Mauro chose part of the Handling Circuit at Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge Surrey. The circuit provided a complete 360 degree circle of tarmac which saw him complete almost 8 laps.
“When Mauro approached us to hold his record breaking attempt on the circuit at Mercedes-Benz World we were happy to offer him the support. He has been a valuable member of the driving experience team for several years and is a respected driver in the industry, so there was no doubt he would achieve his aim,” Andrew Mallery, Commercial Operations Director, Mercedes-Benz Cars commented at the time.
So tell us: Is the sound of pure AMG power reason enough to get out of bed? Would you rather prefer they only used one model from the lineup in a parallel drifting formation, like a airplane display teams do?
