The all-wheel drive 4Matic version of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG is the fastest-accelerating production S-Class in history.
Courtesy of its AMG-tuned all-wheel drive system and enough power and torque to spin the Earth the other way, it can accelerate from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds flat.

Currently, it is the only luxury sedan that has that kind of performance figures and still comes with reclining first class seats with hot stone massage and a champagne freezer.

It is not the only luxury sedan that can go as fast though, as the Audi S8 and the Porsche Panamera Turbo know their way around a track as well.

The Germans from Auto, Motor und Sport took an S 63 AMG 4Matic for a spin and pitted against the aforementioned nemeses.

All three are powered by twin-turbocharged V8 engines, but the AMG's 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque completely obliterate the figures developed by the Panamera Turbo and the Audi S8.

Nevertheless, the competition between the trio of uber-sedans is pretty fierce, and the AMS comparison doesn't seem to elect a single true winner, despite the S 63 AMG 4Matic having the upper hand on more than one occasion.
