Mercedes-Benz Recalls 5,800 in the US for Potential Fire Risk
Apparently, it can crack, leak fuel onto hot engine components and ultimately catch fire. The problem is caused by an issue with the actual moulding process of the specified part. However, not that many cars are affected, with their total number rising to 5,800.
The affected models are the C300, CL550, CL63 AMG, E350, GLK350, S400 Hybrid and S63 AMG, the owners of which will get a letter from Mercedes-Benz, asking them to bring the car to a dealership, where the faulty flange is replaced with a new and properly manufacturer replacement.
However, this small niggle will do little to dent Mercedes-Benz’ good recent sales record, which will undoubtedly carry on untarnished into 2013.
