Mercedes Benz G 55 AMG Typhoon, by Hamann
Hamann equipped the G 55 with a HM600 power kit, paired it with a reengineered transmission, remapped electronics with a bi-turbo architecture (sourced from Brabus' G V12 S Biturbo), making the G 55 reach impressive figures: 600 hp and 782 Nm of torque. This means naught to sixty acceleration in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 261 km/h (162 mph).
For the sake of comparison, the series built 2008 Mercedes Benz G 55 uses a 5.4l V8 Kompressor engine, which develops 507 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The series AMG reaches 100 mph in 5.5 seconds and tops at 130.4 mph (210 km/h)
On the exterior, besides giving it a dirty-white paint job, Hamann brought the upgrades listed below which, to be honest, looks fairly decent.
- carbon fiber mirrors
- custom door handles
- large front grille
- front spoiler with LED daytime running lights
- rear bumper and diffuser
- six pipe exhaust system
- roof spoiler
- 24 inch alloy wheels
No prices for the Mercedes Benz G 55 AMG Typhoon have yet been released.
