Mercedes Benz A-Klasse Concept First Pic

A while back, German auto maker Mercedes Benz announced that two of its less successful models, the A- and B-Klasse, will become the backbone of a future strategy meant to bring younger and younger customers to the brand. Now, the first images of one of the cars that will shape the future of Mercedes has surfaced.

During the Shanghai Auto Show in April, Mercedes Benz will be unveiling the concept car that will preview the next generation A-Klasse. A month or so before that moment, the car maker released the first sketch showing the model.

Coming with much more aggressive lines and with a clearly more youth-orientated design, the least of all Mercedes cars, as some have called the A-Klasse throughout the years brings with it a compact package, wrapped in lines that some of you might have already seen on the F800 concept.

There is no telling yet what Mercedes will present under the hood of the model. When it announced its new strategy for the future, the auto maker said that the two small models will be the carriers of both existing internal combustion engines and the hydrogen-based electric drive.

Currently trekking the United States under the hood of three B-Klasse models, the fuel cell electric drive train will probably make it into the A-Klasse lineup in the future, together with some hybrid versions of the ICE-engines.

More details about the new A-Klasse concept will be revealed closer to the Chinese auto show, so stay tuned for further updates and possibly new teasers.
