Daimler and Renault-Nissan have extended their part-sharing agreement, which means that Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury division, will use Mercedes-Benz’s MFA (modular front architecture) small vehicle platfrom (this is the architecture used by the second-generation B-Class) for a future MPV that is scheduled to go on sale in 2014, as autocar reports.
The MPV was previewed by the Etherea concept, which came to the world at last year’s Geneva Auto Show. The vehicle was originally destined for the European market, but Infiniti is also considering selling it in the US.
Like we said, the two parts already had an agreement for parts sharing, which saw the use of Mercedes engines in Infiniti cars. This means that the upcoming Infiniti MPV will use a range of engines that will be co-developed by Mercedes-Benz and Renault-Nissan.
