The purpose of any concept design is to inspire, despite the fact that it could never hit the market in the initial form. Designers of such concepts, also referred to as visual futurists, have always tried to break the boundaries of imagination and come up with ideas that make you day dream or, on the contrary, have nightmares.

Electric motorcycles are known for their lack of appeal when it comes to styling, and we are still not sure where to place the following contraption coming from Nederlands, but one thing is for sure: it is aimed at giving the world a brand new perception of what an electric motorcycle is.

Dubbed Orphiro, the project is described as a wide-body cruiser, with wire spokes and bobber-style seat. The battery range is around 60 miles (100 km), so this isn’t a bike that will you can use on long distance commuting. However, the top speed is a brisk 75 mph (120 kph), which is quite enough for what Orphiro calls “sustainable fun”.

“The motorcycle is a fantastic, wide-body cruiser, that introduces the fun factor in world of electric mobility,”
the company explains. “Orphiro combines all ideals when it comes to new motorcycling: fully electric, fast loading and one with nature. An enormous acceleration power, a lovely cruising speed and a range that covers all work-living distances easily.”

The order book for the Orphiro electric cruiser opens when the bike is launched in September, with a price of EUR49,000. They do not plan to mass produce the bike, but are planning to custom make them for companies for promotional activities, Wired explains.
