Meet the HeliCat 22, The Catamaran That Will Make You Run Like James Bond

Have you ever been in a situation where you went fishing when suddenly you thought you saw an helicopter sailing? Well, that is basically what the HeliCat 22 looks like. This catamaran is designed to run on rough water like it’s a bird in the sky and will make your cruise seem more like riding a motorcycle, without the traffic.

Some of us enjoy feeling the road while having hundreds of horsepower under the hood. Others need the wind in their faces. Some like flying, others sailing. Well, why not combine them all together?

The HeliCat 22 is a cool-looking catamaran designed and built for rough water that will make your ride smooth and safe, while still making your 007 dreams come true. Although it looks like a helicopter ready to sink in the middle of the ocean, it actually floats better than most of the water vehicles. At a starting price of $75,000, it might be a bit expensive, but every secret agent needs to get the best vehicle there is, don't he?

It’s your choice whether you go for the 60 hp motor or the 90 hp one, the thing is, its builders managed to make it as efficient as they get. Despite the powerful performance, it can get between 3.5 to 5 miles (5.6 to 8 km) per one gallon (3.785 liters). With a weigh under 3,400 pounds (1,542 kg), the James-Bond-looking type of vessel can be towed by a mid-sized car or small SUV so it won’t be a problem to take in all your nature trips.

According to the manufacturer, the “cat”, how people also call it, has been tested in whitecap waves under the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and found to be stable and relatively smooth at 30 mph.
