This is exactly what happens in the video below. The footage shows the two drivers feeding their machines some gas once the lights turn green. However, this is where the story ends - many fanboys on the internet see things in a different light, talking about how the P1 raced the GT-R and lost.
Sure, both machines are motivated by a 3.8-liter, but this is where the same-league-similarities end.

And yes, there are GT-Rs capable of smoking hypercars. But to push a Godzilla over the 1,500 HP mark means to throw the drivability factor out the window. Basically, you're turning the GT-R, which has been praised for its practicality, into a racecar.
Besides, such modifications no longer fall into the affordable aura of the Nissan GT-R, so very few people actually do it. Even out of those who choose this extreme pathway, most choose to protect their investment, racing their cars at events instead of risking things on the street, in the middle of the day.
