McLaren Boss Describes the Bugatti Veyron as "Pig Ugly"

McLaren Automotive CEO, Ron Dennis, had some interesting words about the Bugatti Veyron when interviewed by the Arabian Business magazine. The legendary F1 supercar maker's boss let the world know his opinion about the most expensive car on sale today, the Bugatti Veyron.

"The Bugatti Veyron is a complete piece of junk. I think it is. I believe I can look at a range of women and I can see beauty in most of them, but I can look at a Bugatti and I think it is pig ugly. The Veyron doesn't do anything for me. I've been looking at it for years, and I don't see one single thing that makes me feel good", said the Englishman quoted by the Arabian Business.

Even if we take into account that Ron Dennis is preparing the market launch of McLaren's new supercar, the MP4-12C, the strong words directed at the Bugatti will surely raise some eyebrows. But Dennis didn't stop here. He went on to say that the performance of the Veyron is questionable. To prove his point, he cited the second episode of Top Gear's 13th season, where a McLaren F1 and a Bugatti Veyron raced each other in Abu Dhabi.

"When we did the race in Abu Dhabi, we beat it off the line so many times that the film crew was getting frustrated because the outcome was supposed to be for the Bugatti to win. So we had to do that whole thing about ten times before it managed to get off the line cleanly and catch us up. Because every time they dropped the clutch it bogged down and we were gone", said Dennis to the Arabian Business.

McLaren’s all-new MP4-12C supercar goes on sale early next year. Dennis hails it as a cleaner, lighter and more powerful sportscar than all its rivals.
