Every time we say the 650S is a replacement for the 12C, McLaren should come and slap us over the wrists. Even though the two look almost the same from the back and are based around the same engine and body tub, the S is a clear move in a totally different direction, a new-age kind of supercar. You see, these Brits specialize in engineering and they've put together a car in a class that's hard to define right now.
Only once Ferrari launches the updated version of the 458 Italia, rumored to be called the M458-T and packing its own turbo-8, will we truly understand what the 650S is.

For now, let us just focus on what's at hand: one of the first attempts to customize the 650S. Surprisingly, it comes not from America or Britain, but from LP Auto Gallery, a premium car dealer and customizer in China.

Shortly after taking delivery of the 650S, which is in really short supply these days, they decided to offer up something really different and replaced the standard wheels with a set of forged PUR 5IVE. They have a really unique design, almost unbalanced because of the fact that they only have three double spokes. As a result, most of what's behind the wheel is in clear view, including the massive carbon ceramic brakes.

Like most supercars, the 650S' stance looks better with larger alloys at the back, so we have 19x8.5 inches at the front, growing into 20x11 inches for the back. As for the color, gloss black is used, discretely accentuating the white body body of the British supercar.

Knowing it has something special on its hands, LP Auto chose some fantastic locations to show off its creation, including a demolition scene. Halfway though, we also discover the car has an Eater Egg in store for us: it's the i version, not the 650S coupe.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
