Mazda to Build US-Bound Cars for Toyota in Mexico
Mazda plans to build their all-new ‘2’, at the factory which is slated to have a capacity of 140,000 units per year, as well as a workforce of 3,000 - the Toyota-branded car will be based on this new Mazda2, and it will boost, and the capacity of the plant may be increased by up to 50,000 units, once the Toyota model enters production, in 2015.
Toyota made a statement, regarding the news. They said: “an appropriate portion of production equipment costs and development costs related to the Toyota vehicle and also an appropriate portion of costs related to the plant’s production capacity increase,” yet they did not say how much they were investing, or any kind of financial plan.
