The Mazda CX-3 is as fresh as a new pack of kitty litter, having just started to arrive in US showrooms. We like its sporty looks and rakish roof line, preferring it to rivals, such as the Chevy Trax or Honda HR-V.
But that doesn't mean there is no room for improvement. Japanese tuning firm DAMD is responsible for this aggressive new look, which has the same vibe as the custom CX-5 we showed you earlier this week.
The kit isn't 100% ready, but while examining all the details in these two photos, all we could think of is how it looks twice as nice as a MINI Countryman Cooper S.
Most of the front bumper has been left intact. However, a deep chin spoiler has been installed, and it makes the CX-3 look lower. The extra design element is painted black and has a red stripe that is also present on the new alloy wheels. DAMD didn't stop there, as they also installed an array of LED accessory lights.
The side of the baby SUV seems to feature blade inserts for the rocker panels, painted in black with red accents. The wheels have also been changed, and the mirror caps are now a nice shade of dark silver.
Things are also a little crazy at the back of the CX-3, where they bolted a wing to the top of the boot and fitted a silver spoiler. The exhaust system appears to be the stock one though Mazda already did a great job by putting twin pipes even on cars equipped with the 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine.
All these parts will become available in early October. For now, you can order custom leather seat covers. They cost 42,000 yen and come in either black or back&white with red stitching.
We'll remind you that DAMD is the styling firm that made headlines earlier this month with its Toyota GT 86 styling kit that intentionally copies the Aston Martin Vantage.
