It's a little known fact of the auto industry that Maserati makes some really amazing photos that nobody ever notices. Hopefully, after this story all that will change!
The full roster of Maserati models, both brand new and… slightly refreshed sat on the deck of an aircraft carrier two moths ago for the most amazing photoshoot we've seen so far this year. You've got the brand new Quattroporte, Ghibli, plus the GranTurismo and GranCabrio right next to a war birds armed with guns and missiles. If that's not cool, we don't know what is!

The session took place to mark the start of 2014, which promises to be a landmark year for Maserati after the launch of the more 5 Series rivaling Ghibli sedan.

Seeing the new 'tridents' all bunched up on a carrier deck is kind of fitting, but what navy would ever alloy cars on a warship? The Italian navy, of course, this being their one and only "Nave Cavour", the flagship and largest ship they have, which was launched back in 2004. Compared to US nuclear-powered ships, this is a relatively small unit, powered by four gas turbine engines and displacing under 30,000 tons.

Cavour looks similar to the British navy carrier and takes about 20 aircraft, eight of them being the AV-8B version of the (British-built) Harrier jump jet, the other 12 being helicopters.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
