At last year's Geneva Motor Show, the House of the Trident unveiled a special edition of the Quattroporte flagship, personalized in collaboration with Ermenegildo Zegna, an Italian fashion house specialized in men's clothing. One year later, Maserati and Zegna finally announced that they're embarking on a world tour to promote the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition.
Any hardcore fan of the breed certainly knows that only 100 examples of the limited series will ever be built featuring color schemes, materials and exclusive trims that link the histories of the brands. That tour we've mentioned earlier consists of four international events starting in Shanghai in July 2014 before stopping in New York City (Sept. 2014), Dubai (Feb. 2015) and the world's fashion capital - Milan (Spring 2015).

These events and designed to present the Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition to an "exclusive audience" and to "celebrate the partnership between the two Italian brands." Did we hear "trying to actually sell these things?" We can all agree that it's rude to categorize potential buyers as members of an "exclusive audience."

If your next-door neighbor that owns a canning factory at the town's outskirts really likes the big sedan and wants to spend his hard earned money on one, will that make him a member of the so-called "exclusive audience" even though he isn't invited to the grandiose event, or will he be the same neighbor as always, but with a new, fancier ride in his garage?

We're not blue-collar activists, but still, that's a very uninspired way to describe attendees of a champagne party with a car displayed in the middle. Anyway, let's move on and tell you that the car wears a special effect paint finish that uses ultra-fine aluminum pigments and a gloss black primer. Moka and greige chromatics dominate the limited edition Quattroporte's cabin, while velvet-like fabric inserts, genuine soft leather and a unique collection of accessories complete the Zegna part of the mix.

Unfortunately for potential buyers, Maserati has yet again "forgot" to state the price of the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition. Nevertheless, it'll be available either with a 523 horsepower twin-turbo V8 mill displacing 3.8 liters or a force-fed 3-liter V6 producing 404 horsepower. Both powerhouses are to be mated to a fast-shifting automatic transmission, while the least expensive model is expected to go for $135k or so. If it were our money, we'd add 5 grand to the aforementioned sum and go for the all out with the Maserati Quattroporte GTS.
